THE ROGUE SERIES: PART FOUR
The Series ~~> [link]

#1- Circa 2000, this is the costume Rogue donned when the entire X-Men team had their look revamped for the new millennium as Chris Claremont returned to writing duties for about a year. This run was odd and hard to follow, honestly, though it was cool that Rogue got to serve as team leader for a time. I like this costume to a point, that point being the metallic neck piece, which makes no sense. I really wish I had just left it out now. She also sometimes wore her leather jacket with this one, but I didn’t feel like drawing it.

#2- In 2001, Claremont and artist Salvador Larroca recruited Rogue and several of her teammates into the X-Treme X-Men title and gave them new, ‘edgier’ style costumes. This look is a complete divergence from her previous green color schemed outfits, but I think it really works, especially considering the upheaval her character was going through at the time. Previously absorbed powers had begun to randomly surface, including Cyclops’ optic blasts, which required her to almost constantly wear the ruby quartz glasses that also hosted her team communicator.

#3- Rogue’s X-Treme costume, minus the jacket and glasses. Another previously absorbed power that began to resurface for Rogue was Wolverine’s bone claws, pictured here because I think they’re cool. I don’t know what happened to her eyes in this drawing, incidentally. I messed something up.

#4- Circa 2002, a version of the New X-Men style costumes adopted by the main X-Men team in the X-Treme group’s absence. The flesh-revealing top is a departure for Rogue, who has lost her absorption powers at this time (X-Treme X-Men #’s 17-19). I was never crazy about the New X-Men story arc, but I did like the new black leather uniform look, and I like this version of it, even though Rogue never really used it as far as I know.
