"sure, why not ban gay marriage? that's just the beginning, now we can stop all them coloreds from marrying whites, and no more jews marrying good christian folk. in fact, what's with all this 'equal rights' nonsense and 'freedom of speech' bull? why, we got away with altering the most fundamental rights of this country, with a big enough bottle of white-out we can change all that foolishness and finally get started building the fascist/conservative WASP nation we've dreamed of for years! sieg heil! uh, i mean... yeehah!
my first attempt at political art. do not think for a moment that they will stop with just oppressing the rights of gay people. it was only a few decades ago when racism was basically legal, how easy do you think it will be to stumble back that far once we've already taken a step backwards? i am not gay or black or any other specific minority, i'm just an average working lower-middle class white american. but when you make it political policy to oppress and abuse the rights of any group of people, you insult everything this country was meant to be. keep your religious beliefs out of politics & out of the constitution. freedom means being able to believe what you want, worship or not worship whoever and however you want, live and work and love however you choose, and anyone who wants to change that is a fascist and has no place in a position of power.
this is not an argument for or against religion, but the power to force your religious beliefs onto those who do not share them. religious groups are so fast to defend and demand their rights, but care nothing for the rights of those who do not share their views. that isn't america, that's the sort of thing our forefathers founded this country to offer freedom from.
alright, venting over.
(i think it would have been more appropriate to create this piece using an image of the bill of rights, but i felt a more recognizable document would have stronger dramatic affect.)
ooh I like this. you know what else would be cool, is if you took a picture of a copy of the constitution with the lines whited out and then the white out sitting on it. that would make for an intresting photo, but this conveys the political message beautifully. scruples to you!

LOL, oh man, this is awesome. Looks like a "declassified" CIA document. Yeah, the religious right scares the heck outta me too. They keep trying tell people the what they believe is what other Americans believe. And many Americans, like the sheep they are, go for it.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
